News New Depot has been secured for the future expansion of Watkins Hire Ltd.
The £1.5 million investment by the Directors of Watkins Hire Ltd in the freehold of a 30,000-square feet factory, shows the confidence in the new West Midlands team that have recently been employed from Wellman Robey (boiler manufacturer).
The location of the factory has been selected with excellent motorway links (less than 1/2 a mile form Jct 9 M6) and with the knowledge that there is a large skilled work force in the local area.
The factory is set within a 3 acre site, with extensive craneage which allows for the manufacturer of new trailerised boiler systems for hire.
Sales Director Roderick Williams said
“The plans for the new depot will not only provide WHL with better coverage and reduced transport charges to our ever expanding customer base, it will also allow us to introduce new products and services related to the after market of the boiler industry. The first service to be introduced will be a department specifically to handle boiler inspections and repairs and conversions. Watkins have for a 140 plus years been know for the sale of pre-owned steam boilers and associated plant, we are pleased also announce that we can now offer quotations on new Steam and heating boilers.”
Mark Walton Divisional Hire Boiler Manager said
“We now intend to start the recruitment process, and with the financial strength of WHL we have already attracted several new experienced service engineers, now we need to focus on the skills required within the new facility”
Watkins Hire are now the only company to offer boiler hire services via a nationwide of network with depots in Gloucestershire, Yorkshire , Hampshire and Oxfordshire. Watkins remain the industry leader and further expansion is planned!!!!
